Family Owned By
Robert and Emily Keter
Emrok Tea is a family-owned and operated business by Robert and Emily Keter, whose extended family have decades of experience making Kenyan tea.
The Keter family story is one of triumph. For years, people told Robert and Emily that they would not be able to produce these highest grades of tea in Kenya. It took persistence, vision, the right equipment, a skilled production manager from India who was relocated to work on the estate, and an excellent leaf. It is a shining example of entrepreneurship and together as a family the Keters are dedicated to serving their community and improving the many lives they touch.
Prosperity for Locals
Savings from our EPZ incentives are channeled into a Sacco, with the aim of enriching the lives of farm workers and out growers through the provision of soft loans. The Sacco allows local citizens to make real gains by better utilizing their farm land with new project options such as dairy farming, rearing rabbits, chickens, planting passion fruits among others. The Sacco also arranges for buyers, ensuring these projects generate long-term economic returns.
A better future through
We train our employees and neighbouring farmers who support us by providing field training and conducting seminars on best practices in farming, tea growing and tea production. We also process the tea grown by local farmers, giving them an outlet for their leaves.
Our Children Tend to
This is the Ngererit Primary School, built using profits of the tea operation and through other donations we raised to serve the greater community through enhanced education. We believe in making it possible for children who make up part of our publics to have access to education. The school offers primary education, opening the doors to higher education and a better chance at wholesome living. Our tea estate is a place of possibilities, joy and enlightenment for all families. Emrok Tea continues to advance the state of education at the school with Worldreader e-reader technology. Watch video
